The bishop of Liège dedicates the new chapel of the Confraternity (the current Sacrament chapel in St. John’s Cathedral). The chapel was built by the famous architect Alart du Hamel and his brother-in-law Jan Heyns, both also builders of St. John’s Cathedral in ‘s Hertogenbosch. In the chapel you can also see the showpiece, the magnificent altar of Adriaen van Wesel. Nowadays, two of the shutters of this altar can be seen in the Zwanenbroedershuis.
